My stepdaughter is due to arrive for a holiday visit. This is a special occasion, due to the fact that she reunited with her father just last spring after a 10 year estrangement. We are so thrilled, I wanted to do something special for her. We're giving her the first cab her father ever made. A green moonstone with a sterling silver TonyBale. Then I followed Randy's tutorial using Argentinium Sterling Silver deadsoft square wire. There are a few things I would have liked to have done perfectly, but am pleased with the result. Hope she likes it. Citrine and Sterling RandyWrap And the back for Tweetiepy In my holiday hecticness, I managed to make 14 Green Moonstone pendants wrapped in copper wire using a purchased tutorial. Mailed them off to family and friends just in time for the big holiday. Here's one of them. And the back for Tweet Thanks everybody for inspiring me and egging me on . Jo

JO: You became a wrap master on your first one!! That citrine looks awesome, maybe you can teach me to wrap?? I am so very proud of you, you really dedicated yourself to learning all these new things and the hard work has paid off. She will love this wrap and the fact that her father and you made it together, makes it even more special. Way to go!!! Amber

Wow, what a beautiful gift. The anticipation for the day she arrives must be difficult. It is such a wonderful gift that obviously comes from the heart and made with heartfelt emotion. You and your husband created the perfect gift. I like the back side as well as the front side.
Your copper wrap is really cool. It looks like you pounded the wire flat in some areas. You didn't pound it after the stone was wrapped, did you?

WOW I really like the citrine! the silver really brings it out
What kind of wire are you using for the bindings? Is it half round? it kinda looks square at the same time
The second one looks like one of Eni Oken's wraps - I downloaded the Tute too but haven't tried it yet.
You get extra points for showing the back *i know I'm a pain but I think that others want to see the back too but are too afraid to ask*

Lori, LOL. Pounded everytime I made the turns for the front between two hammers sitting on my bed- LOL. Tweet, it is one of Remy's tutorials from studioheath.com- not too hard to do. I simplified the bale. I used 20 & 22 gauge square wire. I do have 22 gauge round, but used alot making Tonybales, so I wanted to use the square. Ordered it to do another wrap I saw that used all square wire, before I saw Randy's tutorial.
The other citrine cab went to my neighbor's wife, whose property has the citrine. It had an epoxied TonyBale. She hasn't seen it yet, she's in Ga with her family right now. Bet she'll be surprised.
Thanks Amber, Fran, Randy and Saskrock- means alot!

Wow Jo you have really progressed. That sucker is great. Your lines flow so smoothly, something I struggle with. I'm not sure I will ever be able to do wraps this elaborate, too much thinking for me. That really is an impressive piece.

Wow! She's really going to love those. And they're both so different from one another. I'd be proud to own them. Great job! Wishing you a wonderful visit with her.

That's the engineer in you trying to plan, Tony! You gotta throw that out the window when your doing the curly thingys and go by feel. LOL. Just remember, it all started with you teaching me to make your bales! MM- Thanks! I hope she does. Didn't take a pic of the other cab we're giving her because the epoxy is still drying. Just going to try to enjoy our time together.
Randy, there were a few things I had to figure out from the pics and scrolling ahead that you didn't spell out in your directions, but it all made sense. You did a great job laying it all out for us wannabes to follow.

I just randomly selected a thread this AM because I am really, really trying to get back to my old blabbering self...and what a wonderful selection I made (I think the Spirit of the Rocks must have guided me!) The Citrine wrap is beautiful and is a far more extensive gift than you realize for it isn't just for your husband's beloved daughter. You have gifted all of us with Sunshine and Love, as well, by sharing not only the wrap but its history. As for the copper-wrapped Moonstones...all those squriggles and whorls just make me smile and smile! Just the tonic I needed today! Thanks so much for sharing. And thanks to Randy, as well. His generosity in sharing his tutorial has wrapped us all in great good stuff!!! Lady B

Hey Jo,
That Citrine is utterly fantabulous Buddy, the whizzlets and spiricles look like awesome fireworks, that really accentuate the sparkliness of the stone, which, incidentally, is gorgeous! ;D You went wild with the wires, to wonderful effect, that's a super piece of wrapping Buddy, thanks for sharing it with us.
The Moonstone is intriguing, I love the copper and green combination, and the spirals have some funky South American feel, love the design! ;D
Your going to make some folks very happy with those super wraps and rocks! I'm looking forward to the next ones already!
Cheers,
Sparkles.

Tony W, Harry, I'm gushing with pride from your comments. I have made two more, but am waiting to post pics. You see, one of them is for a dear RTH member, and I do not want to spoil the surprise... will put them up in a few days. Jo
