Cut a few slabs of this stuff. Pretty neat, but I'm not sure what it is. Any ideas? Closeup

The patterns have a resemblance to Stone Canyon jasper. Whatever it is, it's cool!!

Yeah, I'd say one of the Stone Canyon type jaspers too. Lots of different locations and variations for that material all up and down the coast ranges....Mel

I've seen a very similar Jasper from Stoney Creek at Black Butte Reservoir. Bob

I will cast my vote for Stoney Creek. It will certainly make some great cabs, even though my first thought was butterfly wings. I like to know where material comes from, but no matter where this came from, it is beautiful. So, where did you find it? Was this a test? Woody

I don't know what the rock is but I do know if you cab all four in the shape of a petal and put a purple round cab in the middle you have a gorgeous Pansey.

Hmm, the angles look sharper than most of the Stone Canyon I've seen (if that makes sense). Absolutely beautiful though.

I think you could make a cab out of any and every inch of that stuff and they would each be dynamite! That stuff just won't let you down! Jo
