Don't know whether to call these the last batch of 08, or the first batch of 09. Whatever, they have just come out of polish this morning: Mixed Batch Main load is Black Sheen Obsidian, with some Gold Stone, Blue Lace Agate, some Red Jasper, one piece of Clear Crystal Quartz, some Carnelian, Turitella and one piece of Green Jasper (Bloodstone). Close Ups: Blue Lace Agate Black Sheen Obsidian Gold Stone Critique, critisism, ridicule, bash-em, pull-em to bits, all comments, observations, opinions are welcome. I'll not be upset, I'll not be offended, and I'll certainly not cry over them, at the end of the day they are just polished stones/rocks, and it's not as if they are critical to life or existance.

Nice batch, Rogue. Love the glittery gold stone. You did a nice job on the obsidian and the pale blues are sweet! Jo

Lovely mix of stone Rogue. Although Im generally not into man-made materials, I can see why people like Goldstone. That sparkle really gets your attention. My eyes went straight for the little orange one that is almost in the center........my favorite color. Carnelian has always been one of my favorites. Shannon

Look good. That first picture is pleasing to the eye in the way that the colors are mixed.

Forgot to mention Rogue.............you will probably get more responses from the tumbler folks if you post photos in the Rock Tumbling Photos section rather than Member Photographs. There are so many places to post things that its kind of hard to remember what goes where sometimes. Shannon

This section is fine, I'm excited that someone is finally posting something!! lol.... Those look great, I did a batch last year of black agate and red jasper and those two colors always look so cool together. Those all turned out great, looks like you took some time in the coarse stage to get them really smooth. Nice job!

Beautiful tumble! I almost missed it in this section but it has been a bit slow so I was really looking for something that I might have missed. I didn't know that you could tumble the goldstone and have it turn out so well, especially with harder rocks like the blue lace and bloodstone. the obsidian even looks good and I thought it wouldn't hold up with others so I am very impressed! Thanks for sharing! Fran

Actually Fran, I should have removed these pictures. Having posted them, I noticed that the Obsidian is looking very crap. There are hot spots and highlights on some of them indicating that they could have been polished a lot better than they are showing. They are now back in polish, with a little less packing this time to help them tumble better instead of them just rubbing against each other. I'll post new pics when they come out next week end.

Great mix, rogue. I love the first picture. The contrast of black with red always looks great. Despite what you said later, I thought the obsidian came out excellent. I don't remember seeing a finer batch around these parts in a while.
I've got some black and noreena jasper in polish now, and I hope mine come out as good as these. It looks like you spent a long time in the coarse stage to get very rounded rocks. Care to post the details of your method?
