Hey, I have some sweet pics. Picked up my cabbing machine from chassroc this am. He and his wife are wonderful. I know the machine was posted already but somehow it looks much nicer in my home. motor I brought with me a few wraps so his wife could chose one that she likes. Just a little thank you to chassroc for posting this sweet machine at an affordable price ( actually dirt cheap ). Unexpectedly, his wife, who creates stained glass items offered this to me. It is so beautiful. so randy, if you are bored, please share in my excitement.

Nope. Some people on here think that I have everything. Well, I don't have a 10 inch trim saw, a flat lap, a faceting machine, a flat cabber (all-in-one) and there's other stuff, I have to find my list. Catmandew has everything. lol

OK, I will give you a couple pictures. Figure out what kind of rock this is. It is not petwood, or quartz. It is about 8 moh, very brittle, will break in shards. Has small hexagon crystals under a loupe. Does take a shine very well, but if you try to cut it, it will shatter. Found it in the Sanrafel Swell outside of Green River UT. To be honest, I have no idea what it is.

Wow, Tony, what a carving work! It looks like some Maori pendants that I've seen recently. Please post that knife when ready. Those abbalones, yummy! Do you also use their shell for some lapidary work?

Adrian - It is dangerous stuff to cut up so I leave the shells alone. I throw them in my front yard and decorate my walkway to the house. When you come out this summer You are welcome to as many as you like!
If I ever finish the knife I will make a post, but it is on hold for now.

Dangerous? I don't know anything about cutting shells, why are they dangerous?

the dust is very bad to breath, have to use lots of water. You could get silicosis from it, thats all I know. I just like eating the meat from them, good stuff.
