Here is my first attempt at a groove wrap. I kept it simple but have some ideas about dressing them up a bit. I used Amber's Gryphenette machine to cut the groove. I used 22 gage wire but I should really use 20 gage wire for a better fit in the groove. Ahh yes, more money sunk into the hobby. lol Front Side

Beautiful Tony. You bought it for Amber right? Reminds me of the chainsaw I bought my wife.

Great wrap Tony! It came out just perfect! Congratulations. Amber, you can also call him now "groove master" ... I kept it simple but have some ideas about dressing them up a bit. ... That's what I'm waiting for, some new ideas starting from those basic groove wraps. Adrian

Adrian:
You will always be the Groove Master!!!!! Once you get a title it is yours to keep!!!
My dressing it up involves setting a 2 carat diamond in the bail, LOL!!!
That machine is the greatest thing around under $100!!!!!

Groove Miester / Meister , probably blew both spellings. Loose German translation means man in charge.
Such as Brew Miester , prounounced --- Brew- my-stir ( I think ) I just hate it when I can't find my German dictionary !

Hey Tony, That just does not look like a first or second or third. Both your cab and that wrap are beautiful. You really did master that on the first try. That is awesome. Seems the Groove Mastery is coming out in force and I suspect Amber will be the next one to wear that badge with pride.

For under $100, that's a machine that will pay itself off really fast. That's a great job on the wrap for two reasons, I'm noticing that the groove is perfect and the cab itself is perfect, both the shape and the outside edge. That's a very clean one, and doesn't look like your first.

Thanks all, this machine did make it very easy. I cut the groove in about 2 minutes and it does make it perfect. I did take a risk on this cab as I love it, it is green after all, but the machine cuts so smoothly that the cab would have to have a big crack already in it to fail.
Amber, hmmm which do I love more you or the cab? You of course, its yours.
John, yea I bought it for her but figured its my money so I should get some use out of it. ;D You definitely steered me right in the purchase of the machine.
Adrian, you will always be the master. I learned from reading your posts.

Wow! It is so straight!! How long to cut that groove, Tony my boy? 2 minutes? I am packing up a box of cabs that need grooving as I write. To help you get the most out of that machine...and so you can get a warm feeling in your heart That is a great job. Impressive. Tony

Hi Tony! Wow and Well Done! What a fabulous groovy cabochon and such a perfect looking wrap, you aced it Buddy! ;D I have to agree that the little grinder bit works beautifully, and I absolutely love mine. As soon as I saw it do it's stuff it got me thinking, and I've still got a few ideas to try. There is a solution to cutting even depth grooves, simply attach a small ledge or sill under the bit fixed to the work surface. Place it about 1mm behind the edge of the blade, even grooves with no overcutting! ;D However... I don't think you need it! You cut such a pretty stone first time, I think you got it beat! Awseom stone, stunning wrap, it's beautiful Sir! ;D Thanks for sharing your talents! Can't wait to see the next off the line! Oh... And so when is your little machine turning up then?! ;D He he he he! Cheers, Sparkles.
