Naaaa, it's made from space-age carbon fibers, titanuim, special flame-retardant tiles and alot of wiring. ....or were you talking about the log? Lord, I certainly hope not. You should see the size of the tree that it came out of! (my house sits under the tree) lol

I know how heavey Oak is so size can be deceiving. I'm glad it didn't crash through your door or window or car and no one got hurt.

This is actually fairly big. In the last pic, look at the log compared to the door behing it. This log feels like it weighs around 50-60 pounds or more. Coming through the window wouldn't be cool at all, especially if we had been "gett'n busy" That would have been a real "mood breaker" ;D

Well, Maybe you can make a house or a few like Naturenut did. Looks like it would make some neat main stumps for the body of the house or just yard art....or fire wood after awhile. Fran

Yep, building one of those houses. Jo and I have been talking about those for a couple days, they're really neat. I've got most of this one planned out.

Haha, I was going to say what dreamweaver said. But, I second frane's comment! I LOVE Naturenut's houses. Hmmm, something else for you to do... when you get bored again! So glad there was minimal damage! So is that one of those 'self pruning' trees? Mom has some 'self pruning' elms; what that means, is the branches fall off when they are dead, basically. Every high wind, she is out picking up branches. Luckily, no large branches have fallen on her house, yet...

This one doesn't prune itself, it just likes to throw very large heavy things at us sometimes.

Ah, now I understand the "killer tree" comment in the moon shots. Glad the damage wasn't too bad.

That could be made into a cool lookin KNOT POT ! Cut the limb off just below and above the knot and it could be used as a planter in the flower bed or window sill. If you saw down the back side to make it flat it could be nailed to something.
OR--------
Throw the darn thing in the fireplace and make Smores !
Either way it's a good thing that it fell BEFORE you walked out the door instead of just AFTER !

LOL. Yeah, that's for sure! The funny thing was that it fell the day after Randy told me he wanted to use part of the tree to make a gnome house! LOL. I guess the tree was obliging. Love the know pot idea! (and especially the smores- yum!) Jo

Jo,
Making a Gnome house might be a much better idea , you could always plant some Chives in the hole and tell visitors that the little guy has been on vacation rock hunting and hasn't cut the grass for a couple weeks !
