I have never done this before so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It is a slide show I made with my photobucket. I bought this specimen a while ago in a small shop that had eastern arts and craft items. The shop had a very small section displaying minerals and this caught my eye with a "have to have it"stamped all over it in invisable ink that only I could see. It came with a list of minerals and locations in which was checked Stilbite / Chalcedony and the location: Nasik. I looked up Nasik (also spelled Nashik) which is in India. I named the slide show "Surreal" s180.photobucket.com/albums/x111/DingBatMommy/?action=view¤t=86c81eee.pbwI hope you enjoy it and thanks for looking.

That specimen is incredible in it's shape and color. You did a great job on the slideshow, I need to figure out how to do that.

Thanks Fiftiesrock and Jo, making one is pretty easy. Just log in to your account, click the slide show box and it's only 3 easy steps. when it first came up, I thought it had dumped all of my pics into one show. But it is all your pics to choose from which you want in the show. All the pics are on the left, the slide show screen is in the middle, your choice of effects are to the right. I chose the "fade" which makes the pictures flow easily. Try it, you'll like it Forgot to add that I think the Chalcedony is the charcoal mineral and the pink/salmon is the Stilbite. The Chalcedony has incredable sparkle to it.

Hey SitNWrap,
That's a most excellent specimen, a real eye catcher! And guess what? I see the ink, I get rocks like that too! They normally say "Polish Me - I'm Shiny Inside!" ;D
It's especially nice to see stones with more than one growth pattern in them, like the vertical pink Stilbite crystals against those "bubbling" waves of green druzy Chalcedony. It's gorgeous and sparkly! I love the way this example can be viewed from so many angles too, it's not obscured from all but one side as many are. I have quite a few odds and ends of Indian material, there are some astonishing deposits there, and they produce some excellent stones. You have a very special piece there Buddy, thanks so much for sharing the pictures with us. I really enjoyed looking.
Cheers,
Sparkles.

You're certain that's quartz and not fluorite? Specimens of pink/peach stilbite on light green/grey fluorite are fairly common from India and China. Fluorite would have tiny square or cubic crystals, not pointed trigonal crystals. Amazing piece, though. If it were mine I'd make a nice rotating display base to set 'er on and put a spotlight on it.

Thanks Amber, it is the prettiest specimen I have but then again, I don't have many.
88pathofroad, I'm not an expert but this is charcoal gray and I'm pretty certain that it is chalcedony based on what little experience I have. The charcoal gray looks exactly like a geode I cut open once. The geode was filled with fluid and once the fluid drained, I watched the chrystals dry and turn the same color and texture as the posted specimen.
Since I don't know much about Florite, I just have to go googling now. I do love learning about this stuff so thank you for bringing up this possibility.
