I have a friend who she and her Husband has helped me a lot. Recently she asked me to take this Green and Brown rock her father who was a big Rockhound, and turn it into something she could wear as a memory of him. The stone is some kind of Jade is all I can figure. It is much harder then Quartz. Takes a long time to cut and shape it. Takes a glass finish. I know the photo is low quality, and hard to see the true color and finish, but it is late and night, and I have yet to build a light box for taking decently lighted pictures. It is high on my list. Thanks for looking. Dave

Dave, I love the wirework, the beading, the bracelet is awesome. Can't wait til you have that light box built so we can see the color in those stones. I'll bet it's awesome!!! Jo

Ohh Dave, you do so such nice work! What a beautiful memory for her. Maybe the sun will come out and we can see the stone better, because it looks like you made some beautiful things!!!
Is the one on the right set in silver, or groove wrapped?
Lovely work on all!! Amber

I think one of the greatest gifts an artist can create is something that a person can cherish that has special meaning to a loved one who passed over. Your work is just beautiful. Someone had posted a link to a "do it yourself" light box that I had added to "my favorites" its very easy. It's on my "to do list" also. www.strobist.blogspot.com/2006/07/how-to-diy-10-macro-photo-studio.html

Beautiful pieces of jewelry! Are some of them groove wrapped or is it just my impression?

They are all Grove Wrapped in Silver. I used dead soft silver on them. The one on the right is half round with the round turned in so it is flush with the surface.
I was going to drop them off to her this morning, but I over slept and was running late. I will be home in time tonight to get a better picture with better light. The color is one of the best parts. The green in them is solid, but the Carmel/brown is translucent.
Thanks once again for your kind words.

Yes, we would love more pictures if you get a chance. They look beautiful! I agree with sitnwrap, about creating a piece that will remind someone of their loved one. I'm so glad you were able to do this for her.

There is no way around it. You are going to see tears when she looks at what you have made for her! These are all really beautifully done and they will be so special to her! Fran

They look really good. Nice work! Shoot them in the sun until you can get set up inside. T
