I'll take nothing new anyday! Wow! They all look amazing, but the winner for me is the BO! I like setting a lot. It's very simple and effective! Great work Steve

Well I never saw your work and boy I am glad you posted. I love smithsonite, Tony recently made a cab with that, and it is a nice stone. The wraps on the azurite are really cool------well they all are, I have so much respect for you wrappers, I just can't get it! I like the little beads, they look neat and your swirley tops. Amber

Old is good, very very very good. Hey I remember most of them, does that make me old too? Maybe it was in my skulking the board days but thanks for posting them again. They are as beautiful now as they were then.
I cant remember if you posted the whole set all at once in your first thread but it would be fun to pick a fav now and go back and see if it is the same one picked the first time around.
My fav this time is the BO

Susan, I just love how you built the character of the stone into your wraps, like the lasso effect in the West Texas stone, and the astral effect with the crystals. Thanks so much for posting them!

Those are really really beautiful- breathtaking seriously. Each wrap compliments the natural wonder of the stones. wow. Do you cut your own cabs as well? if not where do you get them?

Wow each one is so unique. I don't have the imagination to do work like that. Nice job. In the first and third wraps it looks like you used twisted wire, did you twist that yourself or did you purchase it that way?

I do cut my own cabs now, yes, but the Smithsonite, Fire Agate, BO and Texas Plume were cut by Ed and the Chrysacolla/Cuprite was cut by Jamie. The Azurite Crystals are au natural.
I'm glad you guys like 'em. Most of them have been posted before. I really need to pick up the wire again.

Thank you so much for the repost. I really enjoyed seeing your handiwork- very impressive. Someone asked if you twisted the wire yourself- do you or is it available for sale? That is a really kewl "twist" pun intended lol!

I had to look at the Smithsonite wrap before I could answer the question. I twisted the wire on that one myself, using a Pin Vise, gives a very delicate sparkly look to the wire. I like twisted wire more than plain. Round wire cannot be twisted. For the Plume Agate wrap I used pre-twisted and square wire.
I purchase all my wire through Rio Grande, and, yes, it's best to order the catalogs and then do a phone order. I use half-hard wire ONLY. It's more difficult to work, but makes for a more durable piece.
I plan but to try some of the "rainbow wraps" and will be ordering dead soft for the weaving projects. Wire is expensive and lately I've been doing more stone cutting than wrapping.
