Naturenut: I was looking at that piece and of course, not knowing hardness or anything, it appears to be a quartz replacement of some kind of layered sedimentary material, maybe quartz after a calcite/ travertine. Just a rank guess though as most the rest of your stuff appears metamorphic so maybe you don't have a lot of travertine/calcite in your area. Whatever it is, it's a really nice looking specimen...Mel

Hey that place looks familiar but the rocks don't. Looks like your finding new stuff there. The variety that comes from that site is amazing. I gotta get there again before all of the rocks are in your garage. lol

Tony, if that happens, I could always hide rocks all over my garage and we can have a rock hunt here! LOL. (sorta like an egg hunt, but with better stuff) I'm dying for warm weather so I can cut some of the jasper I've found.
