Hi, everyone! Today I finished two groove wraps. those two pendants are one for Ina and one for my sister in law (Ina's sister, whose birthday will be in a few days). The Graveyard Plume is for Ina and the Leopard-skin is for her sister. Here are the fronts: Side view: Another view from the side: And the graveyard Plume in back-light. Thank you for looking, Adrian

Adrian, Your pendants are always beautiful but seeing what you have called them touched my heart because when I first learned how to make bracelets, the first three I made were for myself and my two sisters and I called them "Sister Bracelets".
It is such a beautiful sentiment and these two pendants will be treasured by your wife and her sister forever.

Great wraps Adrian! I sure like the clean lines of your groove wrapped pieces. I kinda prefer it when the stone is not hidden by the wire.....Mel

Thank you all. Lori, your bracelets and my pendats have the same first name, "Sisters", so could they be relatives ? Mel and KYRocker, that's why I like and use so much the groove wrapping, because it allows the focus on the stone. Adrian

Top notch as usual. What wire do you use for the wraps at the top?

Thanks again to all of you.
Tony, I use the same round wire for the upper binding but firstly I hammer it flat and then I smooth it with a file and some sand-paper.

Adrian: I don't know how I missed these beauties!!
Now questions since I did the groove wraps: You use round wire against the stone and at the top?
You flatten the round wire to do the binding?
Do you first wrap the 2 wires and then add in the back 2 wires?
can you take a close up pic of the back of the bail?
Thanks Amber

Amber, YES TO ALL excepting the last question: I wrap all the 4 wires together. I don't cut the descending wires shorter, I let them nearly touch the stone. Then I make the coil around all the 4 of them with that hammered wire. I'll take a close up shot of the bail for you. Adrian

Here are some close ups of a bail, Amber. front: side: and back: Adrian PS. If you really want to see all the imperfections of your work, take some close-ups like those ones. I chose that pendant thinking it has a pretty neat bail but those close ups show something else...

Adrian: I think the most important part is that you measure the wire pretty accurately! I like the idea of just bending them to the stone and then wrapping them. Also what gauge wire? I suppose yours are in metric? I am going to get this down yet! Gotta keep trying! THanks for the pics! Amber

Amber, I don't measure them exactly, I cut them with some extra length (one inch or maybe a bit over) and then I cut it precisely, after bending the bail. The diameter of the wire is 1 mm.

Beautiful, Adrian! I love the thick, bold square wire on the bails. What gauge are you using? I've been using 21 gauge and I think I want to go thicker. And don't worry. No matter how big the glasses no one can see what the camera sees T

Tony, that is not "thick, bold square wire" but it's the same round wire which I hammer a bit to get it flat as you see. After hammering I grind it and shine it with some sand-paper.
