Hi everyone, Here's the second pendant with hidden bail and upper accent stone. I think I matched better the size of the upper stone. I also hope that purple and the golden tiger eye go pretty well together. I'm not quite content with the link between the two stones, I still have to "dig" here. Ina told me she likes it but she'd prefer the bail to be placed not in between the stones but behind the upper stone. Maybe I'll try that too at another pendant. Thanks for looking. Waiting for your thoughts, Adrian

I rather like the fact that the bail is between the two stones because its different. Putting it behind the smaller stone would be the expected way to do it.
You could also put the large stone on top, pointing down and put the small stone below it. I flipped my laptop upside down and decided that would look good too. If you dont have a laptop, you could just stand on your head while looking at your screen lol.
This example is much more even and straight, it looks good!!! Finding complimentary stones is going to be really important or it will look too "busy". Both of your current stones have different patterns. You may want to consider a patterned large stone and a complimentary solid colored small stone, or vise versa.

Hey Adrian.. Man those are coming along GREAT!! I can already see the wheels turning and the perfection around the corner.. Your poportion size is Right ON!! And I like the combo's ever think getting the right colors and patterns to go well together will only keep getting better.. so can't wait for those!
The bail behind the first stone might be easier to cut the distance between the stones.. but seeing it on Ina it actually Looks REally Good ! So that might not even be an issue later.. cuz from the pic you don't even notice it .. either way.. You Da Man!!! .. She's lucky to have someone shower her with such precious gifts..
BTW. I'd wear that one too it does look good together..

Hey Adrian, Gorgeous. If I had it, I would want to try it on my solid silver band that goes around my neck. Not sure what it's called, but it compliments cabs and heavier pieces beautifully. I missed out on your explanation of what equipment and technique you're using to cut the groove around the cabs. Could you pretty please tell again? Susan 2

Thank you ladies! Shannon, thanks for the color advices. It really means much coming from a 32 bit colors sensitive person to a 16 basic colors sensitive person About turning the pendant upside-down, it won't work 'cause the mass center would be above the bail and it will tend to turn upside down in an instant. It would be possible only if I'd move the bail above the main stone. I kinda did this in the past, maybe you remember my two "fishes" (one is still here, one was a Christmas present for Keith's wife (Kap was my Christmas exchange)) Roxy, yes, I would like so much to be able to lower somehow the distance between the stones. Thank you , your words are really encouraging Susan, here is how I used to do these groove wraps, since then I made some minor changes but it's basically the same. forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/index.cgi?board=wwp&action=display&thread=23856It also would be useful for you to see the grooving machine some members here did buy. One of them is Amber - Bejewelme. Adrian

I like this Groove wrap and I think you have created a basic design that has a lot of possible spin offs. I think that the Tigereye helps draw attention to the pretty brown and black that is in the bottom stone.

Thanks for the link, Adrian. I like the idea of a diamond blade rather than buying any more equipment right now! I had another thought about your new groove wrap idea. What about opposites, i.e. black with tiny colored accents on the bottom and the color from the accents as the background for the top stone with tiny black accents? Does that make sense?

Wow! All I can say is wow. You've taken an already cool idea to the next level. I like how the stone shapes are the same. That is just amazing. I think the bail between the stones makes it unique and interesting. Very beautiful wrap! Steve

I think it looks beautiful! I would wear it and be very proud of it. Your wife looks very nice wearing it too! You are a perfectionist so you really look for problems where there aren't any. Because of that, we get to enjoy these beautiful creations that you make. I am looking forward to more now. Fran

Adrian! That's such a great idea! I love the egg timer effect, and it's a wonderful way to combine materials in to a single jewel. I love the materials and the shape selection and your groovy talents made a really neat job of the silverwork. Excellent skills and a very fine result Sir! Always a pleasure to see your work. Thanks for sharing them with us! Cheers, Sparkles. p.s. Expertly modeled too, your wrap looks right at home! ;D ;D

Groove Master: ;D I think it looks great!!!!!!   I agree that I might like the bail at the top, but you have to mix it up and try different things to see what works! I also like the idea of a busy cab, like say a crazy lace, with a complimentary solid stone like red jasper, or something. I am all about coordination, and like the idea of combining 2 stones! I also think 2 cabs of the same material using contrasting shapes and patterns would be interesting. Say like wood cut with the grain and then against the grain? I think that would be cool! You are the master and continue to amaze with your new and innovative ideas! Amber

Amber, about those words: "wood cut with the grain and then against the grain"
1. it's about PET wood, is it? ;D 2. this is a REALLY GREAT idea, I am really looking to put in practice. I think the palm wood especially wood would look stunning this way. Thank you for the idea!
