I changed the title. The more I read it, the more I thought I sounded like a smartass ;D lol..... ya gotta hear my story. I went to a meeting last night for the Tidewater Gem and Mineral society and mentioned to a woman that I had some really nice picture jasper that I was gonna slab soon, as soon as I get a 10 inch trim saw (my slab saw is too big and Workforce is too small). Well, she told me that she has one, come to her house and make an offer. I was gonna offer $100 and some wire wraps, slabs, cabs, and some pendants. Anyhow, I go take a look at this saw..... Ok, unbelievable. Nice 10 inch saw, with auto-feed vice. I started to pull money out of my pocket. "Oh no, I don't want your money". This woman likes my wire wraps. She saw one last night that she liked, I didn't have it with me so she said "no problem", take the saw and just bring the wrap to the next meeting. I said ok, your name is on it! Then I asked her to pick two more. She refused. "I know how much time you put into those, I only want the one". I had to twist her arm, finally I said ok, the trade is for just the one and she agreed. Then I said "now I'm giving you another as a gift" Good lord, I thought that I was gonna have to beat her up, put the wrap in her pocket and haul ass! She finally picked out another, but wouldn't let me leave before giving me a 5 pound chunk of unakite, so I got a ten-inch saw with auto-feed and five pounds of unakite for two wire wraps!! ;D

Dang Randy, that's a nice looking saw! Never seen a power feed quite like that. Is it hydraulic or operating off a screw. Looks rugged as all get out compared the the flimsy feed on my 10" saw.....Mel

It was some sort of power feed, but I'm gonna make it a weigh-pulley feed. I'm gonna do the same to the power-feed on the Covington too. The screw-shaft on those things suck after two years.

That sounds like another innuendo ;D Hey, thanks! lol EDIT: I'm a moron But honestly, I'm really excited about this. I got it for a song, and I've been needing one for the fist-sized rocks that I have hundereds of. Now I'm gonna cut some really cool slabs!!

One more thing, here's the trade, this was all she wanted, just this one wire wrap. I gave her two wraps, 3 cabs, and I gave her son a handful of tumble pendants. Here's the wrap she picked out, the cab is from one of many beautiful stones that Jo "naturenut" sent me.....

Wow Randy. You're gonna be super dangerous with that saw. Look out world! Look out rocks! As nice as that saw is, she might have gotten the better part of the deal, that's a beautiful wrap!

I think that is a fair trade. I am looking forward to seeing the slabs you turn out with this! Fran

I think that is a fair trade. For $5 worth of wire and a polished stone, I felt like I was taking advantage of her. She'll be getting some nice slabs from me, I can tell ya that. I'm gonna clean it up a little today, and install a brand new hotdog blade that I've had sitting around for two years now. I've got so many projects that I don't know where to start.

LOL. You thought you were going to have to "beat her up, put the wrap in her pocket, and haul ass." Kind of reminds of that Burger King commercial where the character puts money in people's pockets and runs. Anyway, you made out like a bandit.

Oh, the power of wraps! Randy, she wasn't just getting wire and stones, she was getting the expertise of superb craftsmanship but that was an awesome trade. I think that it is really neat that the stone in your wrap was from Jo. I don't know but it just seems to me that it makes the trade that much more wonderful. That saw looks sweet. Way to go!

I'm glad you showed us the wrap, too! I was gonna hassle you about that. We're all happy for you, and we know you tried your best to not take advantage!
Now cut some stuff up for us to see!

I'll get her back, we're both in the Gem and Mineral society and she likes to cab so I'm gonna make sure that she never runs out of slabs. She can't get away from me ;D

You can do some serious slab cuttin' with that.
And your wire wrap is beautiful.
You're happy, she's happy - what a deal!
Bikerrandy take advantage of someone - I don't think so! I am sure that you will repay her many times over with cabs and kindness!

I'm still in dis-belief. lol.... I've been wanting one of these for two years and just happened to mention it to somebody that had one. Really cool things have been happening lately, can't talk about all of them though. I'll be breaking the saw in Friday, it will be in the 50's
