Well I thought that little groove machine would make wire wrapping a breeze, WRONG! I found out that you still have to deal with those nasty wires. I just can't handle wire, but here they are, I will most likely pierce my neck tomorrow wearing them, but oh well I can keep trying! I cannot keep that dead soft half round wire from twisting one me, and the binding needs to be tighter, I need to keep working with wire. Photobucket is not letting me edit these photos, so just tilt your head, hahaha. Crazy Lace Mookite Snakewood

Thanks guys, the tops are really bad, but it is almost easier than making the bail wire wrap, so I will keep struggling!!! I need to just practice wrapping bindings, that is the biggest challenge for me.

You did awesome on the cabbing and wrapping. The grooves are incredably neat and look great and your bails are looking good also. I love that lace. Amber, if you want to rotate your pics, you can do it in your file first before uploading them into the bucket. All you need do is right click on your picture and there should be a "rotate clockwise" It should be about the fourth choice down. click on that and your pics should rotate then dumped it in your bucket. Oh, you crack me up. you say you can't handle wire but that is exactly what you did and a great job of it.

Still needing a third hand, Amber, huh? ;D Don't worry, this need will disappear by the time. You did a very good work on those groove wraps. Am I wrong or you did correct the shape of that crazy lace before grooving it? It looks way smoother than in the thread about your cabs.
The wire work looks very good. I think you might leave the two descending ends of the bails to go down closer to the stone, this way you will do all the coils around all the 4 wires. I think the transition between coiling 2 and 4 wires is not easy to negociate.
The grooves look amazingly straight and even, I must think at a device to help me make it easyer.

Adrian: I do need a 3rd hand, and more hand coordination obviously!! I did not correct the shape on the crazy lace, but I think just cutting the groove in it made it appear more uniform. The groove wraps really spruce up the cabs. Like my cabs are still not so great, but they look much classier with the wrap, hahahaha. The first stone, the crazy lace I listened to Tony, and wrapped the 2 pieces then added the 3rd and 4th pieces, so then on the snake wood I thought I could wrap all 4 wires, NOT, so that one is really messed up, the mookite, I wrapped 2 then 4 but forgot to cut the wire before wrapping, ughghgh. The machine does cut very straight grooves, as it lays flat so the groove is uniform, I think I like the groove cut after rather than before cabbing, although you risk losing the cab if it cracks. I thing you did a great job. I love crazy lace, so I would love that one even it was wrapped in fishing line! They are all very nice - esp for your firsts. Wouldn't be great if you could just order a third hand for wire wrapping? Sure would make wire wrapping a lot easier! llana

She did a great job on the first one, even better than the one I did while showing her how to do it. Keep practicing and you will only get better.
