Here are two new groove wraps. The first one was a demo I did when I was showing Bejewelme how to do it. Its not a very good wrap, the binding at the top is pretty rough, but it worked its magic as Amber's was better than mine. I had been working on this one for a while. I wanted to do something different with it. The bindings a the top are one continuous piece. I used a 20 gage half round wire to hold the top together but I think it looks too thick. Over all I think this one is just so so. I have one more asymmetrical cab waiting to be wrapped so I'll try it later this week.

The plume looks nice, you are too picky! I LOVE that second wrap, I think it is too feminine for a dude so it may have to jump over to my jewelry box. I like the thicker wire at the top, it looks sturdy. Good job babe!

The design on that second groove wrap is so original. I love it. I also love the asymetrical shape of your first pic and the cab is gorgeous.
You two are posting great eye candy and it has to be a lot of fun sharing this hobby with each other.

Yes, I must agree Amber beats you on that first one . But isn't the greatest satisfaction for a teacher to be surpassed by the student? That plume is so beautiful, amazing purple color.
That seccond one is a brain-stretcher. Did you make two grooves on the edge of the cab? Eitherway I don't saee why did you make coils on each "branch" of the bail, unless they are decorative. And that horizontal link between the two branches, placed right above the stone... I don't get it, too many unknowns, would you please post a side pic?

The top on the second one is great, it adds to the stone without taking away your attention to it.

Those are great, Tony. I really love the pattern in the first stone ...it is almost like fine china. And the idea for the second one is a really good one. I spend more time trying to get a good groove, and less time adding the wire. I have to get me one of those machines. Are you using it for anything else, or just cutting the groove? Tony

Tony, Amber uses the machine to shape all of her cabs before she takes them to the grinder.
