Has anyone built a lap attachment to fit on a vibe base, like a Raytech or other with a flat platform? I have been thinking about this for a while, and It really is a n appealing idea. I thought a 10 inck stainless cake pan or ereally heavy plastic tray with a plexiglas panel on the bottom to carry grit,, which would be scored and adhered with construction adhesive, might work. it could bolt down to the center shaft in the middle (with a shorter threaded rod for the purpose substituted for the one on the tumbler, in my case (Raytech TV5). ideas?

Great minds think alike! I've wondered about that, too. Even bought a serving tray from Wally World at one point, then returned it for lack of motivation. My UltraVibe does not have a flat platform, but I'm sure I could figure out a way around that. Of course, I'd have to stop running the tumbler, too.
Sorry, not much help other than encouragement! Chuck

I think it would work,I believe there is a vibe on the market that has a flat lap as an accessory. This kind of project is right up my alley so I'll give it some thought and let you know what I come up with. Mike

Yes! Creativity is alive and well in America. i thought of using the stainless cake pan because they're cheap and easy to find. The grinding surface could be made from a sheet of Plexiglas glazing from HD, cut to size and scored. the Plexiglas couls be swapped with each grit change to make the risk of cross contamination less. I would line the sides of the pan with vinyl tool handle dipping compound and seal tghe edges of the plexiglas disk with plumbers putty.
