I am a new member and very new to rockhounding and tumbling. Just did my first batch of stone and they do not shine bummer. But I think I already know why from reading some posts here. For starters, I bought that "toy" tumbler, just to try it out, ya know. Then I did clean it really good but by their directions I did the polishing in the same barrel. Guess I better find some better equipment. Looks Like a great place to learn! Nancy

Welcome Nancy, this is a good place to learn the ropes. Look forward to seeing what you are tumbling, as you are in the heart of some fantastic rock country.
Have a great day......................Tony

Welcome to the board. If your looking for a tumbler be careful to avoid the CE's (Chicago Electric) unless your job description includes broken fixing things. They look like this. these catch a lot of new tumblers, myself included. Just do a search on here for Chicago Electric and you will see what I mean.

Welcome to the board Nancy! Tumbling can be a pain at times but when they turn out they are so sweet! I am sure your next batch will turn out great! Remember to run them longer in the first batch. It always takes longer than the 7 days they say. Have fun! Fran
