Well I made a new friend on here! I was whining about not having any fire engine red cabs, and me and Mossyrockhound were chatting, and he said it is funny because a friend lost the cab in his bolo and he made a bright red cab for him. Well he looked through his slabs and sent me these!!!! A new sweetie out in Washington!!! Thank you so much!!! Some are plumey, you can't really tell with my high quality photos! Well in exchange he wanted me to groove a cab~~~~~ a very beautiful triplet  The base is Mother of Pearl, -- the center--Tahoma Jasper -and the cap--Quartz. It is super thin and delicate and BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Note the tape because I am afraid of dropping it!!!! Thank you Mossy!!!!! I will send you a little something, and will let you know when I cab these beautiful red slabs!!! Amber

I hope you can make something out of those slabs. I just found out about the small flat-rate box when I got home from the post office. Had I known about this small FRB before, I could have sent you all the slabs I had laid out for you for the same price, rather than just the one pound. I'm thinking "next mailing". I made the triplet out of the Tahoma because it was really dark, so it had to be super thin to get the color, and needed something shiny behind it and something to protect it on top. It was an experiment, but it does look a little like fire agate using that mother of pearl as a backing. I really enjoy reading your posts with all your enthusiasm for the hobby!

The triplet is really beautiful!!! I am nervous until I get it sent back!!!!
Mossy is right though it almost looks like fire agate or a brillant shell, I was amazed at how thin it was, so delicate, beautiful work!!

Would you explain here, please, what a triplet is? Or turn it sideways and take a pic? Thanks!

Yes it is 3 layers glued together, I will take a side view, but his is so thin, it will be hard to see the seperate layers. I have a doublet in process, I will show that! IT works well with stones you want to see through, or if say you have a piece of material you like that is thin, so the doublet supports it! Will work on pics tonight!
