Considering what fairburns get just as stones, that seems like a pretty good deal for your buyer, I try to think about the time and materials, then consider 4-5 times that amount- in light of what I would consider paying for it if I were buying it myself- and round up.
I always figure its good to start with a high asking price so negotiating or haggling lower prices has some room to play, and if you wind up getting the original price its all that much better.

It takes me so long to cab and wrap a piece, I can't charge by the hour, but I think if you are going to make selling work, you have to get the time down, or take a loss. If you have to, price the stone and don't sell below that price..and you can discount, or even give the wrap away, if you have to. Tony

Same with what Tony said. It takes me hours and hours to make a wrap because I am very slow. $30.00 is a very fair price.

Roger, IMO that is more than fair. In fact I would go as far as saying you are giving them away at that price. When pricing for local sale, take in consideration the area, the median income- judge your customers. Size them up. You can put whatever price you want on anything, that doesn't mean it will sell. In my experience pricing items too cheaply is just as big a danger as overpricing when it comes to selling. If you are selling them on ebay, don't take it personally when they don't sell. I have seen so many nice items at really fair prices not sell. I think you could do better with your own website and local sales. All in presentation. When you go selling your art, self confidence knowing what you are selling is key. Every stone is unique- every stone has a history- gemstones have meanings. Know them. Go with quality on your wire - you can always dress down. That is a really nice stone, really beautiful quality wrap. 30 was definitely not overpricing. I think honestly the economy being so bad is why the work isn't selling. For me, I am getting into this purely for the love. If I were to be making a mark for actual monetary reward, I'd sell seeds.

This is only my , (and I could be totally wrong here) but I've noticed the wirewrapped cabs selling at a lower price on ebay recently. Maybe because it's just after Christmas, perhaps because of the economy. I'm just watching the trends so that when I am ready to sell, I'll be edumacated... I've always loved that wrap, and I'm not surprised someone snatched it up! I think that right now, if you are getting $30 or over, you're doing well!
