Hmmm. Several things in that color combination and look come to mind, Indian Fancy Jasper and Marsten Ranch wood replacement jasper from Oregon would be two. Does look a lot like Morrisonite too. I didn't remember seeing it in those colors but I checked my notebook and there was one example of Morrisonite with those bright red/orange orby areas. I'd lean in that direction too...Mel

If it is porcelain hard and chips kind of like obsidian then I would go with Morrisonite, but if it is only rock hard and cracks before it chips I would go with Owyhee Green Jasper. The way the green shading deepens towards the rind is real indicative of the Owyhee Green. Great looking piece either way.

The coloring reminds me of a couple Oregon wood replacement jaspers, but I've not seen them with those great orby areas. I'd lean toward Morrisonite with those orbs...

Cool Stone - It's not Marstons material... It almost looks like Plasma Jasper which has the bright colors like that. Then again I'm not positive, as it does have the Morrisonite type pattern. Regardless it's a eye catching piece! Would love to have a chunk large enough to make a sphere from!

I think I need a closer look before I can identify it. Send me the slabs and I'll get back to you. Chuck I know, there's one in every crowd.

Here's another slab. Maybe this will help. Bob

Hmm - nope, I don't think Belvade. Your green is a little more blue than mine is, and your lighter color is a little more orange and less yellow. Whatever it is, it is gorgeous material!

Hey Bobby...did ya ever come to a conclusion on this one? (sorry for hijackling an old thread but I'm trying to catch up!)
Where'd ya get it is my first thought...that sometimes leads us in the right direction.
Contact Philip at rarerocksandgems website that's in the thread. He's SUPER nice and willing to share his knowledge. If it IS morrisonite (my guess) you've got a couple of beautifully colored slabs!
