I just started my addiction to rock tumbling in Oct. 08. Started with a lortone 3A kit from Bob's rock shop in prescott WI. Which is great, but one barrel just isn't enough. Santa got me a 33B for christmas. So now my wood shop is turning into a rock shop. I was looking online for some books on rock tumbling. Most of the books I found where alittle old. Nothing wrong with that, but I was looking for something a little more up to date. I found Modern Rock Tumbling by Steve Hart at the Little Red Store. I liked the book and in the back he had this website and I'v been checking out this place the last couple of days. I like get my inforamation from books but what I'v been seeing on this site is pretty good also. I have already posted one question and received replies. Everybody seems to want to help. And I hope maybe I'l be able to help someone.

Welcome to the board mattrocks, You will find there are a lot of great people here willing to help where needed when you have a rock question. I am looking forward to seeing your first tumble! That is always exciting! If you need instructions on how to post pictures, I think it is in a thread at the beginning of rock tumbling photos. Keep us posted! Fran

Mattrocks, welcome to the board!I think you will learn more from the people here than in any books you might find.My wood shop also got in the path of a rockslide but I find the two hobbies go hand in hand.So far I've built a 16 inch saw and a flat lap and quite a few other little projects.Hope you have a great time here. Mattrocks -- glad you joined us..this is a great place for advice, and to trade rocks with people from all over. My collection is a lot bigger just by keeping in touch with everyone here.
Welcome.
