You probably wouldn't have any trouble bringin down a Buffalo with that one. It looks like it would do the job very well. Have you noticed any (leaks ) from the Obsidian yet ? My first Obsidian point had to be soaked and then scrubbed with a stiff bristled brush before you could tell WHAT it was ! It appeared to have been used on a whole herd of Bison, really authentic in appearance. What are you using for your Knapping tools ? This would probably be the most convenient place to post our Lithic creations it's (Circa 2009) right Harley

I'm not sure what you mean by "leaks". I just flaked it and what you see is what you get. I am using a sharpened 1/4 brass rod in a file handle and a rock for grinding the edge down. You should post some of yours Harley. I have heard a few people say yours are really good. I would love to see them.

Scott, What I meant by (LEAKS ) was, how MUCH blood did you lay on the lithic Alter. The edges of the Obsidian flakes are 10 times sharper than a new surgeons scalpel right out of the package. A scalpel can only be sharpened to the width of a molecule in the steel, an Obsidian flake has no molecules to speak of and feather out to infinity. The cut will be so finely made that it doesn't register on your body that it has been cut at all. A small nick 1/8 of an inch wide might bleed like crazy for 45 minutes with out letting up at all. I keep a bottle of Super Glue and a roll of Duct Tape with my Knapping tools an can't remember a night I didn't need then. When I work with Obsidian I usually place a narrow strip of the tape from the first joint on my first three fingers on my left hand to the tips of the fingers as that is where I usually get myself nicked. A lot of guys wear leather gloves but they mess up my gripping ability so I made a thin board with leather facing for backing up my points. Now all I have to worry about is spearing myself with the damn pressure flaker YES It's possible Harley

Ohhh, that kind of leaks!!! Nope no leaks. I did destroy a leather glove though. Probably couldn't have finished it if my hand had as many cuts as that glove.
I saw the knives, they are awsome.

Good looking point. That would do the job all right. Kind of makes you appreciate even more what ancient man had to go through to make a living.

Not surprising since obsidian is volcanic glass. Ever see how many band aids the guy at the glass shop wears? Nice arrowhead.
