Ok, long way before I am really postworthy BUT I say not too shabby - and now the back done with el cheapo wire but still pretty cool. This is my 2nd wrap- my first was done for my daughter in the real stuff. I made a few mistakes, was able to undo most and cover the rest so so. Much improvement though - First wrap here oh and beads not cabs YET hehe I like this stuff bunches .

Way to go. Only too cool. Now you are hooked. It takes about 4-5 to really get the feel for it. Keep practicing. You are doing great. Ken

;D Oh yeah I am hooked. Randy's instructions are da bomb I tell ya. I am struggling though with the bail more than anything else. I keep leaning my pliers so the bail loops are uneven. I got to fix that. When I did the first wrap with the sterling half round- the half round wraps easy as far as actual wrap but I tell ya, it is very unforgiving with mistakes. 2 times is the most I got to get it right - so that's why the camoflauge on the screw ups. That wire is el cheapo - brass vintaj square- some 40 feet for 12 bucks or so- but I do like it a lot. I like the rustic feel of it. I am not so big on gold- like the sterling, love the copper. I guess because I used to scrap for extra money. Oh yeah Ken, I am definitely doing more. Can't wait for tomorrow just for that reason. Oh and one more thing, I got a really good dvd on how to make rings- Tumbleweed Glass Studio & City. That guy is really good at teaching and showing how to do it- even how to fix it when you mess up. Susan and Steve Wright are the authors- good stuff. I have some turquoise cabs for that though hehe. I love this stuff- love it love love it lol!

Thanks Tweetie. I like that brass and copper. I do. Soft wire makes a difference on the bindings- someone here told me that when I was asking about wire awhile back. I had it in my mind half hard - because to me soft means weak. But it isn't. It's tricky- it will snap on you, I found that out on the first wrap. That is why I took a humble approach the next wrap and went with the different wire.
You all are really great teachers and really amazing in your art. I am so glad I did a google and found this site. I get so much enjoyment from the challenge- all of it. I have an artist soul and absolutely no talent with drawing, painting, none of that lol! My stick people are pathetic lol! It is wonderful to have an outlet and actually see that yeah maybe I can really do this. and I love rocks- always have, always will. Love them all- I got rocks in my head says my husband lol! Nice to have a place to fit in - cuz I know all of you do too lol! Thanks for being here. Really, thanks.

Fran, wasn't it you who shared with me on the wire ring thread? I think it was. this is what I did with the turquoise- got all the way to putting the end on and the crimp bead broke on me. Had to sub in a leather crimp - oh well. Just bugs me a bit. I'll restring it if I decide to sell this one.
