and possibly my last for one reason- el cheapo wire is a no go and I can not afford to screw up silver. Not in the amounts it takes to make a ring. Not bad, not great- one I will wear and enjoy for the story behind it. I even got battle wounds lol! *note to self- in future triple check wires coming and going for sharp edges* One side came out really nice- the other eh not so great as you can see I did try 3 times with el cheapo because it would have made for a really neat ring but the wire was just not a do-er. Every time, same place- as soon as I would bend it to make the mount, it would crumple on me. Silver never did. The difficult part for me with the ring making using the silver is the final wrap of the wires beneath the stone.

I somehow missed this one earlier too...You did a good job with the cheap wire. It really can be dificult to use! I love how the stone looks in that setting also! Fran

I think you did a good job on that. If you want to do more you could try using copper or if you have a Hobby Lobby close, you can get coated copper or copper wire for fairly cheap. The cheapest place I have found to get my wire for my chainmail jewelry is: www.parawire.com they have all sorts of colors including tarnish resistant silver and gold. Tami

Wow Tami, yeah that would do now wouldn't it?No Hobby Lobby - just a very small Michaels with only one real beading wire aisle. yeah.
Fran, that is with the silver LOL! Otherwise I would have undone it and done it until I got it as I saw it in my head. I squish my wire too much and I got to file down the very edges of my flat nose. No ridges but the edges of the pliers stick up just enough to crimp and mark my wire. I have had a few days away from the wire now so yeah I will most likely try it again- this time with an oval stone though instead of oblong cut. Maybe then more of the stone can show.

You did a great job on that ring.
On my first ring I wouldn't even wear it on a bad day but can't bring myself to scrap it. lol.
