Hello to all. Newbie here who just started playing around with making cabs. I'm not real computer savvy so I'm posting a link to the photo on my Flickr account since it's already there. I joined the SNGMS and took the cab class and even the guy teaching it didn't know what this was but I'm hoping someone here will. BTW I used the most excellent wire wrapping tutorial on the forum here to wrap it. Need to take pics of that too. Ok, here is the link and thanks ;D www.flickr.com/photos/tstreasures/3253590891/Theresa

My best guess is that it's jasper from the Kingston Range, which is about 40 miles southwest of Vegas.
99.9% chance that it doesn't have a monicker.

Looks like some sort of jasper to me...and my girlfriend gets upset when I propose to strangers... haha no worries, actually I've been married 20 yrs so I'd have to decline. Both you and Michael say it's a type of jasper and I'm betting Michael is right since about where it came from since I got it at the SNGMS shop here in Vegas. Thanks, Theresa

It's definately a jasper. The location is a "best guess" due to the extreme purple, which would be indicative of the Kingston Range (well-known for it's Amethyst).
