Hello All! I am new to this board but I feel like I know you all since I think I have read every post on here now! I was hoping someone might have an answer to a question I have. I recently purchased some rutilated quartz. The pieces are much larger than I need them to be. Will I ruin the rutilation in the quartz if I smack it with a hammer to break them up? RiverOtter

Thanks sands. I don't have a tile saw. Unfortunately I don't have anything to cut them with. I was thinking that if I could figure out a way to score the stones first that maybe I could control the breakage a little. I might try it with one of my larger pieces and see how it works.

river maybe you can try a heavy hammer like a 3lb sledge and a cold chisel might stop them from smashin to bits see if that works---john
