Hi All, My wife and I tried our hand at wire wrapping. Randy mentioned in one of his posts that we shouldn't be timid about posting our first attempts, so here you go. The group: Snowflake obsidian (Nancy's first) wrapped with 14K GF: Variscite (my first) wrapped with 14K GF: Jasper - high dome cab (grooved on Woodyrock's machine) wrapped with Copper: Graveyard Point plume agate wrapped in 14K GF: Now that I have a pile of pliers and wire, I'll have to try some more. It's a great way to spend an evening. After trying this out, I have a new appreciation for you experts out there! Thanks for looking! Garry

They are great. It looks like you've been wrapping for years, not your first ones.

Garry!!!!! You are jiving us!!!!!Those look awesome, every one! I have to say though that the Graveyard plume is really striking!!! They are all wrapped really nicely to highlight the stones! If you could do that with Randy's tute, I am hoping the real Randy can help me!!! Those are firsts to be mighty proud of!!! Amber

I love it. First time and you used the good stuff, 14k GF. That is awesome! The wraps are just beautiful. You sure did take the wire by the pliers and show it who is master!

Thanks for all your kind comments. Randy, Yes this is my first experience in doing "anything" with wire unless you count electrically wiring a house. However, I must confess the variscite had wire "rosettes" (looked like coiled rope at the top) until I saw your postings. Then I uncoiled that wire and tried to copy your style. Scott, I promise not to post any more "firsts" at wire wrapping. And if I remember correctly, you've done some really nice groove wraps yourself. Garry

Garry: Intarsia, bowls, cabs, leaves and now wire wrapping!! I don't think I will ever catch up to your skills. I think you should post a picture of your leaf collection for us to enjoy. Tell Nancy I like hers better chasfire

Amber, I've made a display of leaves out of different kinds of stone and different shapes. I drag the display out every once in awhile to put in our local rock show. All the local rockhounds (who attend our show) have seen it, but I'll see if I can get a decent picture of it to post. What would be really cool would be to see if they can be wire wrapped. Garry
