ralph and i bought a used 24" saw only to find out after a lot of cleaning, that the vise was broken. we thought " oh no " where are we gonna find a new one. To our rescue came kev. he emailed us and said he would fix it. I couldn't believe it. well we packed it up and sent it to him. after a few months of his hard work and determination, he got it fixed and sent it back. we were so excited and couldn't wait to see how it works. we got it all together, started sawing and realize the blade was bad. thanks to this board, once again. i read about the green blade ebay. i called the man, ordered it and we got it last night. It was too dark to try it out but bright and early this morning off ralph and i went to see how it would work. Got a huge rock from the backyard, loaded it up and off we went. YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO heres the first 2 cuts off of it. TY KEV VERY MUCH, AND ONE BIG BEAR HUG FOR YOU. ralph and mary ann

That is a honken big saw! Do you put anything down to catch the slab? Looks a long way down for it to fall. How on earth do you lift a big succer like that rock into the machine! OK, I am full of questions but I love to see these saws work. They are just awesome! Great save Kev! Fran

Actually that "ramp" over the arbor for the saw provides a little relief, so the slab doesn't fall straight all the way to the flat plate. How on earth do you lift a big succer like that rock into the machine! OK, I am full of questions but I love to see these saws work. They are just awesome! Great save Kev! Fran

the saw is so big i can't even lift the hood unless i walk to the side of the saw. Ralph has to lift the rocks in, after that i can turn the handle and cut lol Its so huge. I still do the 2 18"s but the 24' is all his lol like rally said, there is a tray to stop the slab.

i sure hope everything keeps working well ;D....no one can actually realize the size and weight of a vise of a 24" saw unless they actually see 1...its a huge thing ;D
im talking only 1 half of the vise...it surprised me ;D....its big....i had a personal fight with this vise....it just did not want to be fixed....but simplicity finally won over ;D....kev.

That's a huge saw with a real good story behind it. When I read it I thought you shipped out the whole saw and thought "no way". lol.

Lay a piece of carpet in tray to absorb the shock of slabs landing. Looks like Kev made a good fix on the vise for you. Woody
