Howdy folks, Dang this knapping is so relaxing that I can't seem to get back to my regular rocks! Anyway, these two points started out as a giant ceremonial knife until I slammed my thumb with the big bopper and dropped the friggin thing on the cement floor. Oddly enough, I thought it was going to be ivory colored flint but it was actually kinda nice and banded inside. It wound up as 2 3/4 inch and 3" points and a long string of cussin instead of the nice six inch knife I had imagined. Don't mid the piece of folded paper under the larger point. The double convex cross section made it hard to photograph until I propped it up a bit. Thanks for looking......Mel

Mel, you are doing great at these! I think I would have been cussin too! At least you have a happy ending with the two points. Fran

One of the knappers making videos for U-Tube was doing a real Quick instructional video on making small points by pressure flaking. In his hurry to get the video finished in the 9 minute time frame , he snapped the base end right off.
Well, he says, I guess we made a long story shorter !
Don't let it haunt ya Mel, I have a LOT, I repeat A LOT of short stories sitting on my book shelf here !
Oh, by the way, I think that both of those points will look stunning on that hat band your working on !

Those are cool! I'm glad you told how big they are. I know it takes a lot longer for the big stuff. (re: Harley's last comment) Those would definitely weigh down a hat so the wind wouldn't blow it off Garry
