One of our local churches tried to have a window built by a window company, and they wanted a small fortune to build a window. One of the members asked me if I could do something for them, so I did some figuring and decided I could do it. I made this out of poplar (poplar does not split easily) I cut the wood on my band saw mill, then milled it all down to usable lumber, built the frame, put 3 coats of varnish on it, then installed the frame, cut the glass (using my ring saw) and installed the glass in place. The cross is a 2 way mirror and the rest is rain glass. I wanted to have it done for Easter services and I got done the day before Easter. Took me all day Friday to set the window and half of Saturday to build the moulding, it took me 7 days to do the whole thing (including the setting). I am kind of proud of this one. Old Window New Window Just thought I would share this with y ou.................Tony

Tony, this is amazing. I do not go to church but I would have loved to have attended the first service with your new window in place. I can just imagine how beautiful it is on the inside as well and all the wonderful things being thought of and said about you and your accomplishment. What a wonderful gift you gave.

Tony - that's outstanding! I can't even imagine where you'd start on a project of that size - much less get it into place - throw in the short time period and that's downright a labor of love! I don't blame you for being proud of that - between the intent and the craftmanship you should be just beaming!

Tony, as a general contractor, I know what went into that window, especially if you made your own framing. You should be very, very proud. 7 days makes one weak(week) ;D Ken

Heck I could do something like that. If I could get the time off work I bet I'd have it done by Christmas.
Seriously though, really nice work.

Tony that is just gorgeous! Your work is beautiful, and the new window gives the church a whole new look. I knew you were talented but that is really over the top. (I will show Stan the pictures, he will want you to come and replace our windows.) Great job! Barb
