Just thought I'd share another one of the things I enjoy.... Rock are new to me, but since high school I have been building speakers. It started with car audio, then home, and I've also done some pro-sound work. I worked at Parts Express for 6 years at the head audio tech... which is where I learned, never make your hobby your job... it will drive you crazy!!! Here are some pics of the last speakers I have built ( three years ago ).... Look at that shine!!! This pic also shows another one I have done...

Hey... MJ, you know your stuff .... Me and a friend built a version of some klipsch corner horns using selenium drivers years ago, jbl mid and tweet... 12 1/2 watts and those things were amazing!!! Bit large for my taste though..... I also did some small P.A. speakers for my step brother with horn loaded 8"s from eminence.... I didn't design them though, both were David Weems designs if I remeber correctly. I would like to try more though.... the woodwork was fun ;D.

Oooops ... spaced this thread. Yeah, I've done plenty of business with Parts Express. Their store-brand drivers are decent and they have great deals on buyouts all the time. I designed a system for a friend's Jeep SUV a while back ... a sub box with eight 8s and two satellites with two 8s and a piezo array in each. The whole system was just under $700, for EVERYTHING, and it blows the doors off the system he was going to buy at Frye's for $2k. There's no misstaking that it's him when he pulls in the driveway. ;D
