That IS strange! Looks kinda like wonderstone or sandstone patterning, but the outside of the stone seems to rule those out. I dunno what that is, but it sure is pretty!

Wow! Looks like a pink version of that Sci-fi/ exotica jasper which is actually more of a wonderstone. Very cool find!. There's also a similar form from Goldfield, Nevada that they call bulls-eye jasper but it's moderately hard stuff. I think it's a silicified rhyolite similar to a high grade wonderstone too....Mel

I'm gonna try heating it to see if I can get some of the color to darken or lighten.

MJ: Last time I was there the whole hill was under claim " Goldfield Gem Co. " or something like that I think. The guy lived on site but was still hard to contact and he had tables full of material you could buy or you could dig your own on the hill. The bulls eye was pretty stuff but sometimes kind of pitted along the seams between the eyes. Probably been at least 20 years since I was out there though so I can't say much about the status of the claim now....Mel

I'm glad I'm not the only one who think this rock is unique I see so much in the symbols- it makes my mind boggle as far what kind of material it is I leave that to the much more informed as evidenced from the posts above
