My wife, and I just spent five days at Saddle Mountain, camping, and collecting pet wood. The week end was our clubs field trip for pet wood, which also coincided with the rock hounds club Pow Wow to the Mountain, so there were a lot of people up there. We had a lot of fun collecting, and great times around the fire in the evening afterwards. It seems that everybody made off with some great finds, but no one seems to have found a big log this year. anyhow, here are some photographs of our haul. I was too busy to pull the camera out whilst collecting, so only have shots of the rock after pressure washing. We did have a bit of a downside this trip, having not one flat tire, but two. The tires were only a year old. I guess we learned to not go boondocking with the cheap tires the manufacturers but on a rig. Woody Woody's pile A closer shot Kathy's pile number one Kathy's pile #2

WOW, very cool!! Sounds like a fun trip! Now do you guys co-mingle the rocks, or do you have separate rock piles? LOL!

Amber: Kathy always gets first pick since she has more of an artistic eye than I. The rock we collect gets somewhat co mingled in the field although we have seperate bags. Once in the storage, it is only labeled by where it came from.
As to the trip, it was really great, especially since it was warm, up the the low eighties, and sunny, and that is not the weather we have been having of late. Friday night, it blew at gale force , and shook out pop up camper pretty bad. Some of our friends were in a tent, and they were very glad when it stopped blowing at 0300. Woody
