...perhaps mine should come with a warning! I use LOTS of wire. ;D First is one of Desert Dweller's jasper cabs. This one is a malachite cab I did and will be heading to a fundraiser soon... All copper wire. I'm in a 'color' phase!

I just don't know how you have the patients to use so much wire! You have weaves and everything! The first one kind of looks like a sea horse. Fran

Those are beautiful - I just wanna know... do you jam the cab in there after you're done or do you form the wire while it's in place (if this is the case, I haven't a clue how you do that)!

Dee: Always a pleasure to see your fine work! Hard to pick a fav, but I guess I am going to go with the Malachite, since I love that stone so much! Do you have a little frog embellishment on that jasper cab? They are both incredible and beautiful as always! Amber

Yea! I love your wraps as they are so much fun to look at and these are just beautiful. I think my fav is the second. The wire work looks like a snake and I love snakes.
Great work Dee. I hope you post more wraps soon.

Thanks, everyone! Yes, Bejewelme, I like adding charms~ I'm partial to lizards and frogs. lol. Tweet, the cab gets wrapped first in a traditional prong wrap, and the wires all around are the 'leftovers', at least in this one. Some have a heavier gauge wire base wrap, that the cab gets attached too, post-wrapped. Wow, a tute is beyond me right now! But it's something to think about...(yikes!) The bottom is a 'simpler' wrap, in that it doesn't have a base, so maybe this summer, after school is out, I'll put throw some ideas around! Randy started something! Or was it Adrian? Mynewhobby, it's all copper colored wire I get on sale at Jo-ann's Fabric store. Sometimes I'll add the sterling and gold filled, depending on the color I want. I don't know if I've posted this one before, but it's an all sterling one around one of Jamie's gorgeous cabs:

Dee, I love the last one! Even though there is a lot of extra's on it, it does not detract from the Cab too much-cuz that's a beautiful cab too!

Thanks, Fran, Adrian, kjohn and chris!
Chris, I'm not sure how long it takes me. Maybe a few hours to do the wrapping part. I tend to move from one hobby to another, and pick things up and play, then get distracted and pick up something else! I've got crafty-ADHD! Some really involved ones could take up to 10 hours, possibly. That doesn't include the sawing and cabbing of the stone part. One of these days, I should buy one of those cheap timers and log the time! Now I'm kind of curious!

Very nice, Dee! I keep thinking of sea horses when I look at your work Don't know why exactly, but it is a good thing. Shapes I guess. T

The third one is great. I love the shape of wire framing. It reminds me of a Cornucopia.
