;D ;D ;D Hey, I think it is very therapeutic, really relaxing and certainly passes the time. I thought to myself this morning, 'I'll just go and try cutting a few slabs of Ruby in Zoisite.' What a thoroughly relaxing thing this slabbing is. I never realised just how addictive it could be. Or is it because I'm still a virgin (Oh yes I am ) and the novelty of it has not worn off yet. Here are the couple of slabs I cut, followed by a few select close ups. Thanks for looking. Hope my enthusiasm isn't boring you too much, and thanks for the tip on doing it from behind. If it wasn't for that tip I'd not be using up bandwidth now ;D

All power tools offer are theraputic providing a great deal of personal satisfaction when the job is done.
However, cutiting rock adds a continuous element of surprise with every cut. It's a little addictive once the "brain chemisty" starts. Have you ever tried to stop cutting before the job is done. All those "rock is waiting", staring at you, calling out your name. It's not easy to power down the saw and return to the responsibilites of life.
Don't ever concern yourself with posting too many pics, or losing the audience. Fortunately, viewing rocks and the work of other memebers is also highly addicitve.

Now, that is what I call eye candy! That is such a beautiful stone and the colors are really vivid in it! I love making the cuts too. It just seems to be so satisfying to see what you find in a nice rock slab you have cut yourself! Fran

lol Yup slabbing is almost as addictive as cabbing. Nothing like slicing into a bland rock and finding its quite a jewel. You slabbed some nice material there. I haven't tried cabbing any of that yet.

I can lose so much time when cutting , even thu i have no sense of time as it is lol cutting certainly doesnt help with that lol .. it does seams like all the worlds troubles go away once one starts the the saw or any power tool ..must be a noise thing lol we all need a little therapeutic time at some point .... please keep the slabs coming Thanks for sharing with us .. drooling is therapeutic also LOL Wolf

Now those slabs would make you want to start cabbing, even me who doesn't enjoy cabbing. ;D Donna
