Okay .... let's try this again ... I am finding out that I work better with the larger gauge wires, especially when I twist two of them together. These make (for me at least) a better and more sturdy base for the wrapping. I still have a very heavy hand, so the larger wires help keep me from smooshing the holding wires. I did this in about 3 hours today .... I used 3 strands ... 22 gauge silver square half hard with one of those strands (middle) twisted with 20 gauge cooper round. I tried to clip down the twisted wire as to hide it ... but waited to late after I had already started the twisted bail. All things being equal ... I did pretty well ... I would have taken more pictures, but the battery died and will be charging for the next few hours As always .... Julie The cab is a very pretty greyish silver .... sparkly .... Thank goodness for my benefactor and her baggie of cabs to me .... It really is much prettier than the pics ... oh and .... I also discovered I do not like working with 21 gauge silver half hard half round for bindings. They come loose.

Julie, keep at it, you are doing great. If you aren't using half round for the bindings, are you using square wire? What ever it is, they look nice and tight and even. I like how you wrapped the bail wires around the "neck". I am going to have to borrow that Idea if you don't mind.

Me too, Julie. I like it! It's a graceful look. You did a nice job framing that cab and your bindings are lookin' great! Keep up the good work. Jo

I used the half round for the bindings and when I crimped them .... the ends did not stay put ...
Weird ....
But live and learn!!
Thanks for the input on the wrap for the bail ... it was the only thing I could think of ....
