... the rope is hanging from the loft hatch ... help me before it is too late This is what I have got so far: The two legs at the bottom I plan on bending over to secure it from the back, and the two square loops to secure it from the front at the bottom. What I can't seem to get into my freaking thick head is how to get the wires to go from being around the sides of the slab side by side, to going up to make the bail and still stay side by side. As soon as I bend them to make the bail they fly all over the place. Also where should I put the retaining arms/bends on the top part of the wrap to secure the top of the cab. I'm really really losing my patience with this one. It seems so easy but I balls it up every freaking time P.S Oh, and I've printed randys fantastic guide out so many times I have shares in the brazilian rain forests

Painters tape is your best friend. I cut little strips.....and wrap my bundle of wires every inch or two. As I complete the wrap, I just take off whatever strips that are no longer needed. This keeps everything nice and neat. And painters tape sticks just enough to be secure but not so much that its hard to get off.

That wrap looks terrific!
Try getting the wires to meet farther up, away from the stone. Then walk your grip down, keeping the wires flat. There's going to have to be bends in the two groups of wire so they lay parallel to each other.
Another trick is to mark the wire (you can use tape) where they meet in the middle. Then take your pliers and make the bend on each set where the mark is.
I normally fit the wire around the side and bottom, but instead of fitting it around the top, I'll take the two sides and bring them up where they lay more easily side by side holding them straight with one hand. Then I basically do the first option I listed here. I use my other hand, keeping the wires laying against each other with the one, and bring them together closer to the stone, fitting the top against the stone at the same time. Then I quickly bind the top, make my bail, and finish the binding.
Did that make any sense? I'm going to try to grab pictures of wrapping a bail tonight.

I use quilters tape. It doesn't leave a residue and you can get it 1/4" thickness. Don't have to cut narrow strips. Once in a while I can even find it thinner than that. One of my favorite tools is a reostat (not sure of the spelling). You can get them with no teeth (I think Rio Grande carries them), so they don't mar the wire. This will hold your wire firmly in place while you're getting your bail put together. As far as placing the upper prongs on your cab, you put them wherever you want. I never make a pendant symmetrical, it only makes it more difficult. Also, think about it, if you're in a room where everybody's wearing a badge and they're all nice & straight. Then you see someone who's badge is crooked. Which one stands out? You attract more attention by doing the asymmetrical thing. Take a look at my website to see what I'm talking about.
What you had done in the pics looked real good. Hope everyone's answers helped.
Have a great night.
