Here is a photograph of typical river worn Manganese Ore Nodules. The photograph does not show the metallic sheen very well, but that does show quite obviously. Being a metal ore, this is one rock that you rock lickers will only lick once. It takes hours for the metallic taste to go away. (Experience) Not only does this material have a metallic look, but it is also heavy for its size. These nodules were found on the Skokomish River in Washington State. Manganese is a common metal ore found in the Olympic Mountains. Woody

Have you ever tried slicing, or polishing? It looks like it may polish like a piece of metallic hematitie.
If that fails, you can always sell them to tourists telling them that they are real meteroites.

This material is too brittle to slab. One might be able to grind, and polish a surface on a nodule, but then, it is larerady shiny. Woody
