I had time to cut some slabs. Since then, I haven't had time to do much of anything! Some of my slabs this time were not as strait as I would like and others were pretty fat. Well, if they don't tun out how I want, they can be tumbles. Most of the group cut a bit of slag glass These are so hard! Took a long time to cut up. a few preforms. Purple burro creek and an agate. Thanks for looking. Fran

You are a cutting Machine Fran! It seems when I start cutting, it's hard for me to pull myself away from the saw. It's a TON-O-FUN! Steve

Thanks all! I think I really enjoy cutting sometimes! It is a great stress reliever and since Biker Randy taught us the little trick about turning the saw backwards so you don't get soaked, I love it even more! I still have a bunch of rocks I want to cut up but they have to wait. Fran

Where did you get the glass slag? I worked some years ago, but haven't found any now.

I went into our local, privately owned pet shop and there it was. Had Biker Randy not talked about getting some nice rocks at pet shops, I never would have thought of that. I picked up some nice rose quartz there too. Everything was about 1.25-2.50 a pound so that is not bad at all! I still have a lot of slag to cut up and I can't decide if I want to cab it or tumble it. I will set it aside until I can decide. Fran

Some of those pieces look familiar, are they the ones you got in VA Beach?

Tony, yep, some are from the trip down to Va Beach. That one in the 4th picture with the crazy patterns. It is hard like Owehie jasper which really surprised me and the Montana that you had shown me along with some of the Brazilian agates that we were not sure what would be in them. I love this stuff and most will really be a treat to work with if I can get the time to do anything. Fran

I haven't cut a single one of those agate modules yet, the suspense is killing me! It looks like you've been wearing out some blades, great stuff! I've gotta make a point to cut one or two of those mystery rocks this weekend.

Brent, the redroserockshop.com has slag glass. They are listed in the rock sheds links. Bought some boulder opal too.
