nooooooooo not even close the variscite, you can look in my flickr for variscite from utah. Its more green and not so crystal like, more solid. Yours from the pic almost looks like a quartz.

Nope, not variscite. I'd say some kind of dendritic quartz too if it's quartz hard....Mel

I haven't tested it for hardness. Definately dendritic. The shade of green is real pretty.
Mel, if you can't positively ID it, then I guess it's some pretty unusual stuff.
