I decided to work on getting my next tumbling load ready to go today. I finally cut up all the seam agate I had gotten from Michael John and I have more agate on its way from him. One of my 6 lb tumblers should be open in about 2 weeks. Here is the whole group I cut today Here are the agates dry and without flash Here they are wet and then some closer pics Some slag glass A few slices Some very blurry close ups of preforms I sure hope that tumble turns out good. Some are really pretty patterns. Thanks for looking. Fran

Fran, you do a beautiful job cutting and slabbing and preforming. One of those pics does look like 2 plates of delicious bacon. Those are going to be just beautiful when you put a shine to them.

I was just re-looking at the pictures that begin this thread, and a really weird thought ran, stumbling, through what's left of my mind: The second picture looks an awful lot like a table spread of sliced-up Texas barbequed brisket!
I don't think I'd be wanting to bite into any of it with my teeth, though!
Nice slabs, by the way.

Bacon, my behind! That looks like smoked hog jowl, beggin' for a dusting of cornmeal and a a few minutes in the iron skillet to reach its most divine state of gustatory perfection! Pass the corn bread....

Dang that's a lot of cutting. I've seen that seam agate from MJ and know how pretty it is. Can't wait to see the finished pieces. Do you tumble the glass along with the agates?

No, the glass will be tenderly tumbled with lots of cushioning. I think it is about a 5 for hardness. I will cut a few preforms to put in towards the end but hopefully, they will do well with just the tumbler. I don't think I really have enough glass for the vibe but then, I haven't cut it all up yet...Time will tell. Fran
