My swap top isn't even two months old, and it seems like the bearings in the motor are about to lock up!!!grrrrr!! Either that, or maybe the speed control circuitry is going bad. Worked ok last night, then, when I turned it on this evening, the motor makes a loud bang/knocking sound, mostly at low rpm as it first starts up. At higher rpm, it sounds louder than usual and the speed doesn't seem right.
I've only ground about 65 rocks, most not very well though ;D. Have I already worn this thing out?? I have been careful to not get water into the motor area, but, maybe some did get in there.
Oh well, now I will see how the warranty process works with them.

Mike, it has brushes in the motor. On each side of the motor is a black plastic screw(size of a dime) Unscrew it and remove the brush and turn it over and reinstall the screw. Sometimes this works. Read this on another proboard. Ken

Thanks Ken. I took it apart and looked. Apparently the design has changed. There is no access screws for the brushes. I looked inside the motor, and the brushes can not be turned over. Then, while reassembling it, I broke one of the brushes. Just ain't my day!
