I decided to cut some last night picked out a chunk of Rhodonite first it's amazing that a solid black rock is pink inside the chunk this stuff is HEAVY all sliced up has some pyrite in it Cut some OJ was disappointed the slabs never got a good pattern Thanks for looking Keith

Keith, that Rhodo is "Da Shiznit"! It's rare to see pieces with so little black running through. That's gonna make REAL nice cabs!

The black exterior is manganese oxide. Manganese provides the black veining. The material we collected in CO has very little veining and most of the pink is not as vibrant as your material. Good luck finding decent ocean jasper. I waited for price to drop. Now prices are still high but material quality is very poor.

You have a really nice piece of Rhodonite there. All the stuff I've ever cut has a LOT of black veining in it. Very nice!!

isn't it strange something so black on the outside can be so pink and beautiful inside. the oj looks like something we bought and turned it into tumble mix lol
