Astonishing specimens! Some of them are huge! I like very much that brown one with bark patterns in the 7th pic.
Those bricks have to be special if you mix them among the pet wood collection. Any story about them?
Yummy! Tomatoes! And I bet they smell and taste like real tomatoes, not like plastic pumped ones in the supermarkets.
Adrian
PS. Cute pets you have - dog and cat; is that Bamby real?

Wow, some of those are really big! Color, cool wood structure, the gardens, dog, cat, even the Dr. Pepper can-- all looks so great! Looks like a great place to hang out! Thanks for sharing Snuffy! Jo

You really weren't kidding when you said "watch out" or something like that in your other thread. The wood in the second to last pic is so beautifully interesting. It looks like a big knot close to the top and I can imagine just how large the tree that it came from was.
A couple of those tomatoes look just about ready to pick.
That was fun looking. Thanks for sharing

Snuffy:
The pet wood with the wavy surface may well be fiddle back maple.........that is exactly what it looks like when freshly split. Woody

Hey! What are you doing taking pics of my yard? ;D
I hear there is a little palm wood to be had down your way. Ever find any? Where I hunt there is a little tidbit here and there but most of it is gone. About the only way to find it is by digging, which I'm just too darn old to do much of.

Excellent collection. That is a lot of petrified wood. I love how you've incorporated it into your landscaping.

Curt, Ive only found two small pieces of palm wood in my life. The next county over the Brazos river is Burleson and the palm wood seems to become more plentiful.I talked to the lady who owns the Smithville Rock Shop and she said there was still a lot of it there ,but is hard to find. We are doing a job in Burleson Co now and the owner built a fish pond out of pet wood. A couple nice hunks of palm cemented in. HATE THAT!! When all the open land used to be farmed, farmers threw all the wood out of their fields,it was a nuisance But now nearly its all grassland. I drive by six houses everyday that are made of pet wood, and cemetary fences too. They are a site to behold.

Boy, you've got some fantastic pieces of pet wood! It sounds like you live in pet wood heaven! Thanks for posting the photos. I also liked your tomato pics - got a few of those myself. Your tomatoes are way ahead of mine though. Garry
