sitnwrap, Here is the back. Condor, I polished it and all slabs and geode halves like this: 1. I sand the slab dry on a used 60 grit 8" dia. 3" wide S/C belt until all of the saw marks are gone. I sand only in one direction. 2. Next I sand with a used 220 grit S/c belt that is loaded with sanding dust. I sand on a scrap agate to load the belt. Again, I sand only in the same direction over the last sanded area. 3. I then go to the polishing wheel. It is a 12" dia. carpet covered wheel. I use generic Cerium Oxide applied from a slurry in a small squeeze bottle. This is very similar to the sanding and polishing method that Richardson's Ranch uses for their geode halves. The differences are they use an inverted sanding disc and polish on a 12" leather covered wheel. I tried their high speed sanding disc machine and ,though it does work, it is difficult to keep the semicircular sanding marks from occurring and I feel that the carpet covered wheel works faster and better than the leather covered wheel.
