This specimen of blue Lace is about 6" across. I have never seen any other specimens of this material that had any of this pattern. Bob

Very cool stuff Bob. There is some blue wood around here. In my 50 years of collecting I've seen exactly 2 pieces of it and neither one is in my collection. Curt

Cool specimen! I love blue lace in any form. I've never seen that bubble topped type either. Wonder if it was acid etched to remove the limestone crust. All my hunks have a crust of that yellow brown limestone looking stuff....Mel

Mel, The limestone crust and matrix are still on the bottom of the piece. I'm not aware of any acid etching being done on the piece. I do have quite a few pieces of Blue Lace with large druzy cryatals that have not had any acid treatment, either. Bob

That is a really neat speciment. It's pretty interesting how the bubble forms outlined a smooth spot on the right hand side of the stone.
