I cleaned out some of the slabs from the slab bucket, and got some pics. It is getting ready to rain so I will just do these for now. Spread out on my picnic table in the back yard. All of these ones Jason and I collected a couple of weekends ago while we were out looking for the "Motherlode" Some landscape jasper with some cool blues in it this looks a lot like Rocky Butte More landscape jasper with some blues in it I found this one because it just looked different than the rest of the stuff in the area, the outside shows no hint of the inside. some cool plume stuff This one doesn't look so hot until you start looking really close at it, then you can see that it has lots of stuff goin on it but it is all blended in. I almost chucked it after a couple of slices. A neat little nodule I found laying in the road on the left, part of a conglomerate piece on the right The outside of this was purple so I threw a few pieces in the truck just to check them out. When I cut it, it is completely black with a few light purple wispy patterns inside, was a complete surprise. The other half of the table A couple of slices from Richardson's moss egg bed and some Wascoite below them. Obsidian Mr P sent me some of his Montana field agates that he got in a trade a few months ago. I got a couple of them cut up. Some really nice stuff in some of them. More TJ1 slices Thanks for lookin..............Tony

Tony: You must spend a lot of time cutting slabs. I don't know if I have ever cut that many slabs at one time in my life. Thanks for sharing. chasfire

I have 5 saws running most of the time. I am trying to make room for another saw this weekend, if I get it done or not is another story. Most of the saws I can just set them and go do something else, so I just go out and reset them every once in a while. The big saw you have to watch closer, so it only runs if I am at home. I just love seeing what is inside of a rock!

Is the Rocky Butte look-a-like from your new area as well? It really does look like Rocky Butte.

Yeah we found it half buried in the middle of the road about 4 miles from the Rocky Butte mine. It is possible it fell out of someones pickup or something, but it still warrants another look around. Gonna go back there tomorrow to see what else we can find!
