Love the organization. I have this obsessive/compulsive thing with organizing my rocks. Some might say Im losing my mind but honestly, for me its part of the fun.

WOW. That's some serious organization. I have inside rocks and outside rocks. The inside rocks are organized as ROUGH, SLABS and PREFORMS. That's as far as it goes. Every now and then I "high-grade" and kick some of the inside rocks to the curb (they become outside rocks). I do enjoy looking at and fondling my rocks...it's part of the fun. S

your bins look great! I just went to some clear shoe boxes for the slabs and my tumbles are all marked and in coffee cans....I still have a lot more to put away! I'm glad to see you got the slabs! Fran

That's definitely some organization skills! Even down to the Mohs scale. Your serious about this stuff aren't you! ;D It's always fun to go through rocks...because it always seems like you find something new each time. I bought me one of the stackable tray shelf thingies at harbor freight and I love it. I need another one though. I am a neat freak and I love to keep organized. Last week I started cleaning my outside rocks again and sorting them. When it's hot outside it's nice to have the hose running right next to you keeping you cool. I can see your as addicted as all of us Julie! Steve

Hey Steve..........dont your outside rocks end up lonely? I have a REALLY hard time putting rocks outside. They get all dirty and slimy with leaves on them. They get sad you know? LOL Shan

Yes I know Shannon. I think the Black Widows, Daddy Long Legs, Earwigs, and Wasps keep them company until the Big Man can come in and take over. Give them the love and caring they deserve. The hugs and feeling of being wanted they need. And a regular washing they so look forward to. And nobody understands me. They all say...."The rocks are talking to you again?!?!?!"......as I look at them with a teary eyed grin....and I muffl... "YES. They always Talk to me" ;D ;D ;D steve

Hmmmmm, I am officially inviting you to my house. While your here you might want to do a little organizing. I think maybe in 6 or 8 months you could go back home.

very nice set up....... i use shoe boxes for all my slabs . I put up pics a couple times. Outside i have milk crates full and each rock is numbered so i can find it, if someone orders it. The bad thing about outside, is all the critters, plus i have them under and tree for shade when its 113 degress. Oh, ya i forgot about the tree, it has lots of birds and birds do what??? ya they poop on the rocks, so i have to keep washing them off. heheheh

I love it! I wish I had more room for organizing. Mostly I have to fit them into the smallest space possible, so I have lots of different stuff crammed into plastic totes. I can barely lift them. When cool weather comes again, I'll drag them out and go through them.
Keep up the good work!

Wow, ...organized by Mohs....I have a hard time marking my sacks with what's in em let alone hardness....great job!!! I tried the plastic but they are a waste since they seem to crack everytime I move them.

You put me to shame I've a couple of flat raters that still haven't been unpacked.
Great organisation.
