i have some copper stained quartz that i cut up and it didn't hurt anything. Mine too was veins running threw the rock, so i think you would be ok.

Well Keith, I have some with solid copper veins. I cut it and polished it just like any other rock. Whether it was bad on my blade, I don't know. The copper looks beautiful polished, but it gets HOT in a hurry. Curt

I haven't cut anything with copper in it but I do have a small slab from Bejewelme that is mostly copper. I've been grinding away on it but the copper tends to just deform rather than grind away. It does get hot as heck though.

Keith, The copper ore I've cut doesn't do any damage to my blade. The pieces I have tend to fall apart while cutting. The ones that are more solid sure do make some awesome cabs though! Steve

The only thing I have been told about copper or copper byproducts is that you need to wear a good respirator and have good ventilation. Something about the particulates being toxic. (chrysocola, malichite, etc). Fran
