I had a short day at work today, so when I got home I actually felt like wrapping. It seems like since it has gotten warm here I really haven't been in the mood to wrap. This is a tumbled piece of obsidian wrappend in silver.... I like how the part that holds the stone came out, but I'm not to sure about the little "pineapple" at the top ( it wasn't supposed to look like a pineapple, it just ended up that way ..... what do ya'll think? Front... and the back... not pretty that's it for now, but maybe I'll do another later.... Chris

Chris! I was just wondering where you were! I kind of like the top just as it is. That stone is beautiful and it works so well with the silver! Fran

Really nice piece, but: "and the back... not pretty" - so what's not to like about the back? Looks pretty darn good to me! Tom

I love that design Chris. Really original and I love the way you criss cross the wire on the stone.

Thanks everyone... as always .... Julie.... Exactly.... a fountain, that's what I was going for. But I just keep seeing a pineapple ;D... Fran.... Yep, I'm still around.... mostly lurking recently... I changed the top a little actually. I cut the twisted wires in the front a little shorter. It still looks pretty much the same from the front, but it looks alot better from the side now ( I need to post another pic ). Tom... Well, I guess the back looks ok ... I just wanted to hide the ends back there, to keep the design clean ( as Randy put it ), and it got a little crowded... Lori... I actually " stole " the criss crossed wires from someone else on this board ( I can't remember who ). I have been wanting to try it, and it came out pretty well. Also, there is a chip in the stone under the wire on the bottom right... you can't see it, the wire rests perfectly in the crack ( shhh... don't tell anyone ). Tony W.... yeah, I enjoy pushing the bail to the limit .... the only problem is that I can't decide where to put the neclace sometimes ;D....

Beautiful pendant, Chris! I like the wires that hold the stone and also the top.

The top adds some three dimensionality to the wrap. Your designs always wow me and this one is no exception.

I really like that Chris... thumbsup! Course, I am always impressed with how you think outside the box...VERY refreshing! I did a boulder opal from Jaime in 14k GF and the top looked like a crown. You can see it here: www.keystonejewelry.com/pendants/pen3258.htmI need to start wrapping again. I've been piddling with a ring...hope it works out.

I'm not to sure about the little "pineapple" at the top ( it wasn't supposed to look like a pineapple, it just ended up that way ) I love that wrap but I think it would work better with a more colorful stone. Picture that wrap on a bright colored OJ cab. It would be perfect. Make sure you copyright the pineapple-wrap Chris. That is beautiful, elegant wrap on a spectacular BO cab. I had no idea this stuff could sell for that kind of coin though. Yowza!

Adrian, Amber, Desertdweller, tony, nancy, 10thumbs.... thanks much, it always means alot!!! Nancy... Don't worry, you can advertise your stuff on my posts anytime... lol, just playing !!!! Really, that Opal cab and wrap is neat ( and $$$ ), that is kind of what I was going to do with this one, but my bail got a little tall.... Wow, a ring eh? I can't wait to see that, can't be easy. 10thumbs... I'm not sure how to go about copyrighting something , but when I find out, I will. I don't want anyone " stealing " my little pineapple design :cheesy: ( TonyW, lol ;D)..... still, Chris also, on a side note... I'm working on an Extreme Makeover Home Edition house next week ( electrician ) . Boy, this should be one exciting week ( actually 4 days... ugh, I can't wait )....
